In extreme cases the oxidisation can completely change the colour of coated surfaces. In the Central Otago UV, this New Denim Blue window frame had turned green. Our Nano-Clear® applicator demonstrated his ability by returning it to its original colour and with an attractive gloss.

1970s brown anodised aluminium is a bugbear for many home and building owners we meet. Nano-Clear® gives the ability to repaint and then lock that colour in using Nano-Clear® permanent protection.

This east facing garage door in Christchurch was a source of frustration for its owners until our applicator was able to remove the oxidisation and re-coat the door with Nano-Clear®. When a surface is this heavily oxidised, cleaning and polishing has a detrimental effect because the oxidisation is actually helping to protect the surface from corrosion. By removing that layer, without coating with Nano-Clear® which starves the chemical process of oxidisation of what it needs, the path to corrosion is only accelerated and the effect will last but a few months.

Clear wood coatings make for a stunning visual appeal, however often come with a heavy maintenance schedule. With most leading NZ stain manufacturers specifying a recoat/maintenance cycle of 1-2 years, the cost for owning assets clad in cedar or other woods are a lifetime obligation. It certainly pays to stay on top of coatings before they degrade - which require substantially greater preparation and often not possible to return to original condition if heavily silvered or damaged. Nano-Clear® coatings on cedar cladding come with a 3 year warranty - which is twice as long as many manufacturer recommended recoat cycles! Of course, we expect the coating to last substantially longer than our warranty, extending the maintenance cycle up to 5x as long as common stains currently in the market. We can apply any colour stain underneath the Nano-Clear® film, and also alter the sheen of the final coating to look matte (natural) or gloss for doors and joinery if desired.

Garage doors are often the first thing we see when approaching a house. They are often dark colours which attract a lot of temperature fluctuations. They’re also often bumped into, leaned on, crashed into by kids on bikes, slapped with sunscreen, the list goes on. One of the most aggressive culprits to damage to paint and powdercoating is sunscreen. As you can see, this garage door was patchy and had lost its lustre - now its looking great again and protect for years with Nano-Clear®.

Retrofitting double glazed units can leave an unintended contrast between the older frames and new joinery / beads that adjoin the new glazing. This photo is typical of how Nano-Clear® returns the original colour (CS Karaka) to the old bead, matching identically to the new bead, by coating over both the old and the new to ensure the colour and gloss is locked in for years.

Every wheel loader that goes into operation for Ravensdown and Ballance (fertilizer manufacturers) is coated with Nano-Clear®. Having tested many other methods and coatings to prevent aggressive corrosion of these expensive machines, the cost v benefit if straight forward when considering Nano-Clear®.

These north facing bifold doors in Christchurch were dulled off after around 10 years following installation. By coating with Nano-Clear® the original colour (CS Ironsand) returned as well as having removed many scuffs and stains received over the years.

Generators often sit outside to do the work. The casing surrounding the critical power supply equipment performs an important job - to ensure a stable environment inside for the machinery to operate optimally. Gough CAT recruited Nano-Clear® to coat the iconic Caterpillar yellow gensets so that the risk of corrosion was dramatically reduced, they are easy to clean (rain helping a lot!) and also so that they remain identifiable as a CAT.

In some parts of the South Island, chemicals, salt and limescale are an issue. Our applicators can usually repair most of the unsightly damage that these substances have caused to window joinery, garage doors, roofs etc. The Nano-Clear® coating is two-fold in these situations - firstly it rejuvenates the surfaces to bring back the original colour and enhance the lustre (you choose from gloss through to matte); and secondly Nano-Clear® will protect from these elements for many years, retaining 90% of the gloss on application for 10 years.

If your vehicle is your business, why wouldn’t you make it stand out? Nano-Clear® was proven by BMW to contain the highest distinctness of image (read: gloss level) that they have ever tested. Nano-Clear® is also independently tested to retain 99% of gloss over 4 years, and 90% gloss over 10 years - meaning if you put a 10 year old Nano-Clear® coating beside a freshly sprayed Nano-Clear® coating, the human eye would struggle to notice the difference. Protection from chemicals (salt, oils, petrol, tar, cement, sunscreen etc) is extremely good as well, with stone chips noticeably reduced compared against the standard clear coat - making it the premium choice for protection of your vehicle.

Repainting garage doors are a regular request from our customers. Paint on its own just does not last due to the extreme fluctuations metal faces being conductive, and also the different challenges to adhere paint to metals. By painting first and then Nano-Clear® coating over the top, your garage door will be protected for years from UV, chemicals, salt and abrasions.

Old red tractors - we love ‘em, but they fade. Agricultural equipment is often exposed to chemicals, acid from crops, alkaline from fertalisers, as well as the harsh South Island sun beating down on them as they are working. Corrosion is a reality for older farm machinery, so much so that many tractor manufacturers are switching to plastic and fibreglass. These fade as well. Nano-Clear® offers another layer of protection - one that will do the hard work protecting from the UV and chemical elements that are most common on farms and other agricultural settings.

When South Island Forklift lease forklifts into tanneries, they are typically subjected to extremely corrosive salt liquor that is used to process the animal hides into leather. South Island Forklifts invest in Nano-Clear® coating upfront so that the ongoing repairs and maintenance is kept to a minimum, and also to be able to receive value for salvage at the end of the lease term. Leading industrial companies recognise that heavy corrosion hurts the bottom line.

Transportation assets can have a hard life and sometimes need a little help. In this case, the cab, chassis and Ditch Witch equipment were coated in Nano-Clear® for Fulton Hogan. Often tendering for government contracts, and with a fleet in highly visible places (roadside) - it is nice for equipment to look good but crucial for it to perform. Strong chemical resistance and easy-cleaning with Nano-Clear® also means that the operator can take greater pride in the equipment under their control.
